Film, gelatin silver print, natural elements

Media

The central focus of this collection is a series of porcelain masks bathed in vibrant, theatrical lighting, exhibiting captivating hues of bright yellows, greens, purples, and pinks. Through intentional movement during the long exposures, I captured moments of motion and crafted intriguing double exposures that evoke a sense of fluidity and transformation.

Forging Facade Series

This project's intent was to explore the depths of human identity through the interplay of long exposure photography and photogram collage techniques. Through intentional movement during the long exposures, I captured moments of motion and crafted intriguing double exposures that evoke a sense of fluidity and transformation. As the photographs were enlarged, meticulously placed additional elements onto the paper resulted in captivating photogram marks, featuring a mesmerizing blend of geometric and botanical textures. By purposefully exposing the images as negatives, an uncanny and mysterious ambiance is evoked, inviting viewers to question the boundaries of perception.

In this captivating photographic art series, I embark on a colorful exploration of societal dynamics through the lens of toys and the art of long exposure photography. The collection features a variety of toys, including handcuffs, toy cops, spinning tops, and jacks, each carefully choreographed to create vibrant and visually captivating compositions.

Toyland Series

Through the juxtaposition of these toys, this series delves into the intricate interplay between power, control, playfulness, and chance within society. The handcuffs symbolize the constraints and limitations imposed by authority, while the toy cops represent the mechanisms of surveillance and social order. The spinning tops and jacks, on the other hand, embody the elements of unpredictability, whimsy, and the pursuit of balance amidst the structured framework of societal norms.

By employing long exposure techniques, I seek to capture the essence of these toys in motion, blurring the lines between reality and imagination. The colorful trails and traces left behind by the spinning tops and jacks serve as a visual metaphor for the unseen forces at play within society. This series prompts viewers to reflect on the complex relationships between power, control, freedom, and the inherent element of chance that shapes our collective existence.

Through the lens of toys, this photographic art collection invites contemplation of the broader societal framework we navigate, encouraging us to question the balance between authority and personal agency, order and spontaneity, and the societal structures that shape our daily lives.
